The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) enacted two amending resolutions to the Brazilian Regulation for Civil Aviation (RBAC, in the Portuguese acronym), updating provisions in accordance with the “Voo Simples” Federal Government Program. They seek to simplify requirements and eliminate redundancies.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM) launched a public consultation on three draft resolutions that will comprise a new regulatory framework on public offerings. The new framework seeks to rationalize procedures, modernize rules, implement automatic registration within CVM, and adopt administrative innovations.

The Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are subject to a reduced 2% import tariff rate under the “ex-tariff” regime. Furthermore, CAMEX also updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are exempt of import tariffs under the Rota 2030 program.

The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) enacted new criteria and procedures for compensating wind power plants subject to constrained-off operation restrictions. Transitory dispositions and a definitive system, which comes into force on October 2021, were provided.

The Brazilian National Council for Energy Policy (CNPE) established a list of renewable energy priorities designed to instruct the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL)’s and the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP)’s decision-making process on Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) investments.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) updated the technical regulation on organic agriculture methods of production, describing production practices and substances approved for organic agriculture. The update seeks to improve the production of organic products in Brazil.
