New guidelines for the upcoming auction for new energy

The MME Ordinance nº 13/2020 alters guidelines for the New Energy A-4 Auction, aimed at contracting electricity generation capacity from hydroelectric, wind, solar and biomass projects.

The changes are technical and define more clearly the characteristics of the projects that may or may not be technically qualified by the Energy Research Company (EPE) to participate in the auction that will take place on May 28, 2020.

Contracts will be negotiated (i) in the amount of electric energy, with a 30-year supply term, for hydroelectric projects; and (ii) electricity availability, with a 20-year supply term, (https://portal.apexbrasil.com.br/participe-dos-nossos-projetos-com-as-entidades-setoriais/) for wind, solar photovoltaic and biomass thermoelectric projects.
