New measures to reduce bureaucracy: rules for public registration of companies have been consolidated in a single Normative Instruction
General rules and guidelines on the public registry of companies were gathered in Normative Instruction n. 81/2020. The initiative is part of the bureaucracy reduction process provided by the Economic Freedom Law. Fifty-six fragmented rules were revoked.
The revision process also brought changes to some rules applicable to the subject, such as:
- the company’s name can now be formed by any word of the national or foreign language, regardless of the company’s object indication; and
- certification of signatures and copies in documents submitted for filing at commercial boards are no longer needed.
