New standard for direct imports of products subject to health surveillance by health units

The Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved a new rule to directly import products subject to surveillance by health units. According to the Resolution of the Collegiate Board (RDC) N. 383/2020, imports can be carried out by the health unit itself, by its related entities or through a third party, respecting the current customs legislation.

The RDC covers hospitals, ambulatories and clinics that perform human health care activities, as well as health plan operators. To perform the import, it must be registered in the Integrated Foreign Trade System (Siscomex). In addition, it is necessary to comply with the requirements established by the Resolution.
