Norms of the National System of Seeds and Seedlings are under review

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) has opened to public consultation the draft of the new regulation on the National System of Seeds and Seedlings for 45 days. Suggestions can be submitted until April 6, 2020 at the Mapa website (link above).

The draft decree aims to simplify the procedures related to the production of seeds and seedlings and subsequent activities, such as processing, packaging, storage, analysis, trade, import and export. When approved, the new decree will revoke
Decree nº 5.153/2004.

The reduction of red tape in the rules for the production and commercialization of seed and seedlings will open new opportunities for investments in this sector.
