Program for the Improvement of Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Biddings

The government published the Decree nº 10.320/2020, which institutes the Program for the Improvement of Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Biddings (BidSIM) and its Interministerial Executive Committee. The program aims at increasing the competitiveness and attractiveness of the areas offered in the bidding rounds for exploration and production of oil and natural gas.

The Interministerial Executive Committee will be responsible for proposing improvements in the governance and methodology of the oil and natural gas exploration and production bidding rounds. The Committee has 180 days to finish the task – starting on the publication date of the Ordinance to appoint the representatives of each indicated body or entity, renewable once for an equal period by means of an act from the Minister of State for Mines and Energy.
