Provisional Measure foresees emergency measures for Brazilian civil aviation

According to Provisional Measure nº 925/2020, on airport concession contracts signed by the federal government, fixed and variables contributions due in 2020 may be paid until December 18, 2020.

The measure also foresees that the term for the reimbursement of the amount related to the purchase of airline tickets will be twelve months and consumers will be exempt from contract penalties, through the acceptance of credit for use within twelve months, counting from the date of the contracted flight, applicable to the air transport contracts signed until December 31, 2020.

Note: Provisional Measures are norms with force of law, issued by the President of the Republic in situations of relevance and urgency. Despite producing immediate legal effects, the Provisional Measure needs further consideration by the Houses of Congress (Chamber and Senate) to become an ordinary law definitively.
