The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) issued its Regulatory Agenda for the 2021-2022 period, covering 132 activities under nine strategic themes. Among those activities, 41 are prioritized and 29 are new initiatives.



Approved by Ordinance n. 6.606/2020 from The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), ANEEL’s Regulatory Agenda for the 2021-2022 period is comprised of 132 activities across nine strategic themes. The initiatives are classified between ordinary and priority subjects, as well as new initiatives and follow-up on previous agendas.

The following strategic themes are listed:

  • Generation – 26 activities;
  • Transmission – 26 activities;
  • Commercialization and Market – 21 activities;
  • Electric Energy sector’s Financial and Accounting Regulations – 19 activities;
  • Distribution – 15 activities;
  • Sector or cross-sector framework – 10 activities;
  • Tariff – eight activities
  • Research and Development and Energy Efficiency – four initiatives;
  • ANEEL internal organization – three initiatives.
