The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) concluded the first phase of its regulatory simplification process, in accordance with Decree n. 10.319/2019. Additionally, initiating its second phase, ANVISA revoked 722 other normative acts. The process aims at improving regulatory efficiency by reducing the normative stock.



The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), through RDC Resolutions n. 407/2020 and n. 438/2020, revoked 45 normative acts without practical effects and modified 12 valid normative acts in order to eliminate obsolete obligations. The resolutions concluded the first phase of the regulatory simplification process in accordance with Decree n. 10.319/2019, which provided the regulatory consolidation within the Federal Public Administration.

Additionally, initiating the second phase, which ends in February 2021, ANVISA enacted RDC Resolution n. 454/2020, revoking 722 obsolete normative acts. The resolution is a result of Public Consultation n. 887/2020, which ended in September 2020 (as reported by the 14th Edition of the Regulatory Report from July 2020).

Altogether, 767 obsolete normative acts were revoked in 2020.
