The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) revised the list of UV filters added for skin protection permitted for personal hygiene products, cosmetics, and fragrances. It incorporated a MERCOSUR resolution to the Brazilian regulatory framework.

The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), through RDC Resolution n.º 600/2022, revised the list of ultraviolet (UV) filters permitted for personal hygiene products, cosmetics, and fragrances. It derives from Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR)’s GMC Resolution n.º 14/2021, incorporated into the Brazilian regulatory framework, and revokes RDC Resolution n.º 69/2016.

The UV filters added for skin protection in personal hygiene products, cosmetics, and fragrances traded in Brazil must adhere to the list provided in the resolution’s Annex, including their limits of maximum concentration and specific conditions (when applicable).
