The Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published its Regulatory Agenda for the 2022-2023 period, covering 66 regulatory initiatives to be carried out in the next two years.



Ordinance n.º 86/2021 from the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved ANP’s Regulatory Agenda for the 2022-2023 biennium, comprising the regulatory initiatives to be conducted by the agency in the next two years – full details are available on ANP’s website. The new agenda lists 66 initiatives, 12 of which involve the creation of new normative acts (which depend on preliminary studies and may not be implemented) – the others are characterized as revisions of the regulatory stock.

The initiatives listed by ANP for the 2022-2023 regulatory cycle are also categorized by theme:

  • Exploration & Production: 25 initiatives
  • Supply, supply oversight, and product quality: 23 initiatives
  • Transportation of oil and natural gas, oil and gas by-products and biofuels: 13 initiatives
  • Production of oil and gas by-products and biofuels: 4 initiatives
  • Transversal topics: 1 initiative
