The Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are subject to a reduced 2% import tariff rate under the “ex-tariff” regime, and the Ministry of Economy approved the 2021 schedule for claim submissions to that list. Furthermore, CAMEX also updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are exempt of import tariffs under the Rota 2030 program.

The Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are subject to a reduced 2% import tariff rate under the “ex-tariff” regime, and the Ministry of Economy approved the 2021 schedule for claim submissions to that list. Furthermore, CAMEX also updated the list of auto-parts not produced domestically that are exempt of import tariffs under the Rota 2030 program.


GECEX Resolution n. 138/2020 issued by the Executive Management Committee (GECEX) at the Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) updated the list of auto-parts not domestically produced under GECEX Resolution n. 23/2019, comprised of auto-parts treated as the “ex-tariff” regime, being subject to a reduced 2% import tariff rate.

Altogether, the resolution excluded 128 auto-parts and included another 129:

  • 124 products within 31 Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) codes classified as general auto-parts destined for production (Annex 1 of GECEX Resolution n. 23/2019) were excluded, while 128 products within 35 NCM codes were included.
  • Four products within two NCM codes classified as capital goods – BK – or computer and telecommunications goods – BIT – (Annex 2 of GECEX Resolution n. 23/2019) were excluded, while one product was included.

SDIC Ordinance n. 24.597/2020 from the Ministry of Economy enacted the 2021 schedule for claim submissions to the Auto-parts not Domestically Produced Regime. It includes the list of auto-parts not domestically produced under GECEX Resolution n. 23/2019, treated as the “ex-tariff” regime and subject to a reduced 2% import tariff rate. Those claims can be filed on two periods: from April 15 to April 30; and from October 1st to October 15.

GECEX Resolution n. 139/2020 from CAMEX also updated the list of auto-parts not domestically produced under GECEX Resolution n. 102/2018, ruling the dispositions of Decree n. 9.557/2018 and Law n. 13.755/2018 – Rota 2030 program. The new resolution excluded five products within five NCM codes and included three products within one NCM code to that list of exempt products.
