Normative Instruction n. 55/2021 from the Brazilian Department of Registration of Business and Integration (DREI) at the Ministry of Economy simplified company registration rules provided by Normative Instruction n. 81/2020, in order to facilitate the procedures for starting and maintaining a business in Brazil. It adheres to the Business Environment Provisional Measure (PM n. 1.040/2021), reported in the 1st edition of the 2021 Regulatory Outlook.
Specific rules provided by Normative Instruction n. 81/2020 were simplified by the new normative instruction, related to company name, validity of digital documents, and signature requirements, as a means to streamline company registration procedures, especially the procedure on interstate transfers of company headquarters (between Commerce Registries).
