The National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) determined the development of transparency booklets, destined for users of maritime transportation services, on the application of extra freight charges and surcharges, seeking to improve transparency.
Ruling nº 57/2022 (item “II”) from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) determined the development of transparency booklets, destined for service users, on the application of extra freight charges and surcharges by maritime transportation companies, as well as the reinforcing of oversight schemes in line with ANTAQ Resolution n.º 7.586/2020.
The decision stems from ANTAQ Public Audience n.º 16/2021 (reported in the 26th edition of the Regulatory Report) and comprises ANTAQ’s Regulatory Agenda for the 2020-2021 period. It seeks to minimize information asymmetry in maritime transportation while avoiding perceived regulatory burdens.
